A graphics accelerator card, also known as a video card, or a display adapter, is a hardware component installed in modern PC's and laptops which generates and outputs images to the computer's LCD or CRT display.

Types of Graphics Adapters
There are two types of graphics adapters:

- dedicated expansion cards are plugged directly into PCI slots in the motherboard. These cards require drivers from their respective manufacturers to operate.
