Printer Drivers
A printer driver is a program that converts data from software applications installed on a PC or laptop into a form recognized by the printer networked to the system. In most cases, printer drivers differ according to the model of the printer attached to your desktop PC or laptop and according to the computer's operating system.
The main function of a printer driver is to allow software applications (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, MS word, MS PowerPoint, Corel) access to all of the functional feature of the printer. Printer drivers for Windows operating systems use a standard API to draw text and images into paper. The result is still impossible to predict, and some errors will usually occur despite the availability of Win32 APIs that allow the application to directly use the function of the printer without using its respective drivers.
